Amanda Whited, Medical Director Dr. Whited received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Covenant College in Georgia in 2002. She earned her DVM from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine (graduating with honors) and completed a year of clinical medicine at Colorado State University in 2014. Prior to becoming a veterinarian, she worked as a Veterinary Technician for 10 years.

Dr. Whited’s areas of professional interest include dentistry, soft tissue surgery, exotics, and feline medicine (she previously worked in a feline-only practice in Colorado Springs).

Dr. Whited lives in Monument with her two dogs, four cats, and 2 horses. She enjoys reading, riding her horses, and hiking with her dogs.

Dr. Mary Carr

DVM

Dr. Mary Carr was raised in Humansville, MO, and attended undergrad at Southwest Missouri State University. She received her doctorate in veterinary medicine from the University of Missouri in 1991. She is fear-free certified and has experience in ultrasound, dentistry, laboratory medicine, and urgent care.

Outside of work, she enjoys rock collecting, doodling, day trips, hiking, photography, and all things Dachsund! She also enjoys spending time with her three children and giving back to organizations like Wounded Warriors.

Dr. Carolyn Kincade

DVM

Dr. Carolyn Kincade resided in New Mexico and worked as a veterinarian for the last 30 years. She has managed and been a medical director for many years, but in the past several, she has enjoyed just seeing patients as an associate veterinarian and is very much looking forward to this in her new position at Palmer Lake Veterinary Hospital. She is a new Colorado resident, and she has two dogs, Jett and Violet, and a kitty, Fender. She also has a son who is in college in Illinois. She continues to enjoy mountain biking, hiking, and anything out of doors. Having grown up in Wisconsin and Canada, she understands winter weather but is still bracing for the snowy winter days, having lived in the sunny southwest for so long. She has a new interest in bodybuilding and competed for the first time this past summer.

Dr Kincade graduated from Iowa State University with a BS in Microbiology and a doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. She has always continued to learn, having been trained in veterinary chiropractic (AVCA) and acupuncture (CVA), and she has a previous certification from the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP) in Canine and Feline practice. Dr Kincade loves her work as a veterinarian, the best part being the human-animal bond, getting to know the people and their families, and connecting through care for their beloved pets. She feels very fortunate to do this work, making a difference in peoples’ lives through their animal partners.

Also, her art is very close to her heart. She attended an Atelier in Santa Fe, NM, for 2 years, learning classical drawing and oil painting of the portrait and figure. Dr. Kincade is a pastel artist, having had her work accepted, shown, and sold in several art exhibits, including the prestigious International Association of Pastel Societies. She resides in Palmer Lake and is looking forward to this new exciting chapter.

Suzie Lane

Hospital Manager

Suzie received her associate degree and Certified Veterinary Technician license in Fresno, CA in 1996. She has been in the veterinary field for 15 years.

She grew up in a small mountain town in California but considers Colorado her home. Her hobbies include camping, 4-wheeling, hiking, and enjoying everything Colorado offers. She currently has one fur baby and loves taking her everywhere she goes.

She enjoys working as Hospital Manager and Technician at Palmer Lake Veterinary Hospital because – most days – it does not feel like a job.

Stanley

Clinic Cat

Hi! My name is Stanley, and I came to Palmer Lake in the fall of 2022, shortly after they moved. The wonderful loving family who brought me in was too allergic to me and wanted to find a loving home. Once Dr. Whited and Megan saw my face, it was love at first sight, and I knew I was in my fur-ever home. I enjoy welcoming all the animals and ensuring all the kitties who visit are safe (by sitting on their carriers!). I am working on getting my professional bug catcher license, but I am still a novice. I am also working on some new tricks! So far, I know how to sit, stand and spin! I love showing off some cookies. Next time you’re in, I would love to say hi to you and your fur babies!
