As a born and raised native of Michigan, Dr. Amy Kranz attended the University of Michigan for her undergraduate studies obtaining her bachelor’s degree in Biology. Dr. Kranz then received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Ohio State University in 2004 and has been practicing ever since! After starting her career in Ohio, she then relocated to Colorado in 2009 and calls Palmer Lake her home.
After initially working in the Monument area, she has been practicing on the southern side of Colorado Springs for several years. Dr. Kranz is looking forward to being able to practice here in the Tri-Lakes area again close to home, reuniting with her old clients as well as getting acquainted with the wonderful customers and their pets here at Palmer Lake Veterinary Clinic!
She has many professional interests as a veterinarian, but has special interest in behavior and soft tissue surgery. Dr. Kranz says she loves the nature of veterinary medicine and the critical thinking aspect to help pets and owners in need of help. She places a high emphasis on client education and wants to help every owner understand how to keep their furry family members as healthy as possible. Wanting to make every pet feel as comfortable as possible during their visit, it is not uncommon to find her on the floor at their level while doing her exams and treatments. She has many goals, but would really like to own her own practice someday.
When she isn’t taking care of pets at the clinic, she is enjoying the Colorado lifestyle doing outdoor activities with her husband and dog Rhaegar.
