Dr. Jensen and her husband Karl Jensen bought Palmer Lake Veterinary Clinic in May 2002. They have worked as a husband and wife team — with Karl as the Business Manager and Dr. “Jan” as the DVM and Practice Manager. Both of them fell in love with the Tri-Lakes area. They live in Woodmoor and raised their three boys here. They feel privileged to be serving the veterinary needs of such caring community.
Dr. Jensen is a graduate of the School of Veterinary Medicine at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO. Prior to veterinary school; she was a Registered Dental Hygienist (for people) and also a Veterinary Technician. She has had additional training in veterinary dental procedures and has a strong professional interest in veterinary dentistry. The practice offers two special dental months per year in February and October, where we offer free dental exams and a discount on a professional dental cleaning.
Palmer Lake Veterinary Clinic provides professional veterinary care to small animals: dogs, cats, and pocket pets. The clinic does not see large animals, birds, or reptiles. The clinic is home to a feisty cat named “Moxy” (who is really the “Boss” of the clinic!)
The clinic has a modern in-house diagnostic lab which permits us to characterize health problems quickly and accurately. We offer digital whole-body and dental x-rays. Digital x-rays reduce the radiation needed to capture an image and are better for diagnosis. They also need to be re-shot less often. We have a board-certified veterinary radiologist that comes directly to the clinic for ultrasounds on an appointment basis.
We have a complete in-house pharmacy. The clinic also has a web store which offers a broad range of pharmaceuticals as well as other veterinary products, with home delivery. The web store is a convenient source for uncommon items or items that are needed at regular intervals.
We offer full-service internal medicine and surgery. We can also refer to board-certified specialists in the Colorado Springs area.
